Mark Geary @ Monroe's Live

"HIS DELICATE songs about love and defiance…..recall Richard Thompson and John Lennon…..one of the East Village’s favorite adopted sons.” So said Time Out New York about Irish singer-songwriter Mark Geary.

Mark, no stranger to Galway, returns to the city to play Monroe’s Live on Friday May 22 as part of his Hope and Spring tour. Hope and Spring is also the title of the Dubliner's latest album, which he describes as "songs about love, songs about leaving".

Mark began his career after moving to New York City in 1992, honing his craft on the East village circuit and in the legendary Sin-E Café, where he featured on bills with Jeff Buckley, Joe Strummer, and Elvis Costello. Mark recently competed tours in Switzerland and Germany, including a headline spot on the critically acclaimed Songs from Ireland: Old and New tour.

Support is from Ultan Conlon. Doors are at 8.30pm. Tickets are €17.50/€12 through www.monroes.ie
