M’ÁIT DHÚCHAIS - My Native Place, an art exhibition on the theme of emigration and the Connemara landscape, opens in Oughterard this evening at 8pm.
The exhibition is being held at The Oughterard Courthouse and partaking artists are Leah Beggs, Renske Boef, Brian Bourke, Denis Farrell, Kathleen Furey, Doc Gilbert, Margaret Irwin West, Dolores Lyne, Jay Murphy, Gearoid MacGabhann, Rosie McGurran, Patricia McQuinn, Colette NicAodha, Catherine O’Lenachain, Cormac O’Neill, Siobhan Potter, Chris Mayhew, Pádraic Reaney, Joan Sugrue, Jess Walsh, and Tara Walsh.
The exhibition is presented by uachtarARTS in collaboration with the Oughterard Heritage Group, Galway County Council heritage office, and is part of the conference, Conamara: Emigration & Landscape [April 23 to 25]. The exhibition runs until May 16.
