Tree planting to mark thirty years of Cúirt

THE CÚIRT International Festival of Literature celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and one of the events to mark this milestone will be a tree planting ceremony.

In 2013 Cúirt initiated a Writers Woodland in the Terryland Forrest Park, and each year since then sees a tree planting event both to lessen the carbon footprint of Cúirt, and to create a space for authors to reflect. This year, festival director Dani Gill will plant a tree to mark the 30th anniversary of the festival and celebrate her fifth season with Cúirt.

The festival will also feature the Read me, I’m Yours initiative, during which Cúirt places books of participating authors across Galway city for people to pick up and read. Cúirt runs from April 21 to 27. See www.cuirt.ie
