Finland’s leading comic to play Galway

FINLAND MIGHT not be known as a stand-up comedy hotspot, but in Ismo Leikola, they can boast one of the world’s very finest comedians.

Ismo, winner of the 2014 Funniest Person In The World competition, run by the Los Angeles based Laugh Factory, and a man called a “Scandinavian Mitch Hedberg” by The Times, is coming to Galway to play The Ruby Room at the King’s Head on Thursday March 19 at 8pm.

A unique, entertaining, off-kilter mind with a gift for comic misunderstanding, Ismo's ‘daft foreigner abroad’ shtick is both incisive and charismatic. For a man speaking in his second language, English, he is both uncannily brilliant and hilarious.

Support is from Dublin based Finnish comedian and Show Me The Funny finalist Manu Raivo and another SMTF finalist in Paul David Murphy. The MC is Gerry Mallon. Tickets are €10
