Grounds For Invasion to launch debut album

GALWAY ELECTRO-POP duo Grounds For Invasion launch their debut album Dying Stars at Strange Brew in the Róisín Dubh on Thursday February 5 and a taste of what is in store comes through the new single 'Bruce Lee'.

Grounds For Invasion are Tracy Friel (lyrics/vocals ) and Will O’Connor (music/production ) who joined forces through the Access Music Project when Tracy was seeking a producer for her new radio show and met Will, a former radio producer. He gave her a few of his tracks to listen to, leading to Grounds For Invasion forming.

The band’s electro-pop, with elements of rock, funk, industrial metal, and disco has won critical praise - The Irish Times and Hotpress both chose them as one of the ‘hottest acts to watch in 2015’ - and the duo have already played Electric Picnic and the Body & Soul Mainstage.

The album is the follow-up to Grounds For Invasions’ critically acclaimed eponymous 2014 EP, whicHEREh Deadlymusic.ie called “Truly original and truly brilliant”; The Irish Times declared it was “a rich, rewarding listen”; while Goldenplec.com said the songs “seep into the brain softly before unloading their dense sonic assault...wrapped in very accomplished melodies”.

Dying Stars will be available through Bandcamp and HMV. Support on the night is from Canaries. Doors are at 9pm. Admission is free.
