Albert Niland @ Róisín Dubh

ALBERT NILAND, the Mountbellew born guitarist and songwriter, who shot to prominence with his cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’, plays the Róisín Dubh on Sunday at 9pm.

Albert is currently based in Ghent in Flanders, in north western Belgium, and will play Galway as part of his yearly Irish tour. He is currently promoting his new album The Hungry Ghost.

The Hungry Ghost is his fourth album, following Dirty Day, Downtown Exit, and A Night In Dublin. These releases, plus session work with Freddie White, have established him as a distinctive talent, a promising songwriter, and an excellent guitarist.

The Irish Times has described Albert’s music as “refreshing, spirit shocking”, In Dublin said his voice “could make the coldest heart sing”, while Hotpress praised his live performances, declaring that “few have the dramatic impact of Niland”.
