Galway Racecourse wins Horse Racing Ireland Special Category Award

Galway Racecourse has been recognised for its high class hospitality following a win at the Horse Racing Ireland awards this week.

The racecourse won the Special Category Award for ‘Best Catering’ at the ceremony which was held at Leopardstown Racecourse on Tuesday. The award was accepted by course manager John Moloney.

Galway was selected by the Racegoers Consultative Forum as providing the best custome experience for dining. The forum comprises dedicated volunteers who attend race-meetings and write reports on their raceday experience.

Michael O’Rourke, HRI director of marketing and communications, said Galway Racecourse is renowned for its catering with a huge number of options available to punters, especially during Race Week. ‘’They are worthy winners of this award. Members of the Racegoers Consultative Forum attend Galway regularly and are ideally placed to witness the success of their catering and hospitality.”
