Listen to an exhibition

ART EXHIBITIONS are usually something you look at. Even when the works have a sound elements, such as in video or installation, they are primarily an experience for the eyes.

How to See Clearly From A Distance by artist Jennie Guy is different, as it is an art exhibition made up of audio pieces. Guy invited a selection of people to record sounds, stories, and texts that they wrote themselves or to record work by other writers or artists whom they liked. These can be heard through www.soundcloud.com/howtoseeclearly

The exhibition is part of the TULCA International Festival of Visual Art and was specially commissioned by the Galway University Hospitals Arts Trust as a work for patients and the people who care for them within the Saolta University Health Care Group.

Hospitals taking part in the project are University Hospital Galway, Merlin Park University Hospital, Sligo Regional Hospital and Letterkenny General Hospital. The project is advertised via posters and on meal trays within the hospitals. It runs until this Sunday.
