THE 11TH annual Spirit of Voice festival, a celebration of the human voice through song, takes place in The Victoria Hotel on Friday November 21 at 9pm.
The line-up is singer-songwriter Eileen Keane, The Sing’n’Tonics choir, and soul singer Brian Deady.
Connemara’s Eileen Keane and her band will play songs from her new mini-album Spaces. Music critic PJ Curtis has called it “a very fine piece of work”, while the Galway Advertiser’s Charlie McBride said her songs “gleam with an affecting glow that delights the ear and moves the heart”.
Legendary Chic guitarist and producer Nile Rogers has called Cork soul singer Brian Deady his “no 1 favourite act in Ireland”, while The Irish Times said the Munsterman’s “deep raw soul never goes out of fashion”. Brian will perform material from his forthcoming album.
The Sing n Tonics’, under choral director Peter Mannion, are an a cappella group at NUI Galway who perform contemporary chart and popular music. Paddy Dooley closes the night with a DJ set.
