THE HUCKLEBUCK’ may have been written and first performed by r’n’b saxophonist Paul Williams, but in Ireland that song is unquestionably owned by Brendan Bowyer.
The veteran singer, and his band, will be in concert at the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday October 21 at 8pm, performing the hit songs. He will also be joined on stage by his daughter Aisling as special guest.
Over the course of his long career, Bowyer can boast how The Beatles played support to him and The Royal Showband during a 1962 tour of Britain and were voted ‘Britain’s most outstanding dance band’ on the BBC’s Come Dancing that same year.More recently, his 2001 album Follow On was ‘record of the month’ in Hotpress, while today, Bowyer continues to perform at his popular Las Vegas concert show.
Tickets are €25 and available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
