THE YOUNG Folk play upstairs in the Róisín Dubh on Friday October 3 at 9pm as part of a nationwide tour promoting their new single ‘Way Down South’ The single follows the release of the Dublin band’s album The Little Battle.
The band are Anthony Furey (guitar, vocals ), Tony McLaughlin (bass, mandolin, vocals ), Paul Butler (keyboards, vocals ), and Karl Hand (drums, vocals ). They have been described by Maverick magazine called them “quite simply, one of the most promising young bands to come out of Ireland in several decades”, while Hot Press described the quartet as “serious challengers for the area populated by the likes of Fleet Foxes, Mumford and Sons, and The Low Anthem.” The public seem to agree with The Little Battle (Pixie Pace Records ), recently enterikng the Irish Indie Album Charts at No 14,Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
