Two new publications have been produced featuring guidelines for property management companies to encourage compliance with the Companies Ac.
The booklets were produced by the Office of Director of Corporate Enforcement and can be downloaded from www.odce.ie They are entitled “A Property Owner’s Guide to Company Law” and “Company Law Handbook.”
The Company Law Handbook” is particularly helpful explaining the role of company law and what property owners need to know about it.
This relates to areas such as the following: the role of management companies relative to managing agents, the voting power of property owners in management companies, how management company directors are appointed, duties of those directors; how to organise the company annual general meeting and what the ODCE can and cannot do to help resolve management company problems.
