AFTER THE success of their debut performance of Songs for the Deaf in The Cellar back in April this year, Galway four-piece Race the Flux will perform songs from the celebrated Queens of the Stone Age album at the Roisin Dubh tomorrow night.
Not only will the band be performing the cult classic album, they will be testing out new original tracks, some of which will be getting their first live airing outside the rehearsal room.
The band are currently preparing to enter the studio this autumn to begin work on a follow up release to their debut LP Dutch Buffalo, released last year to rave reviews.
The band are renowned for their captivating live shows and plan on doing the almighty Songs For The Deaf the justice that it deserves. They have performed at Whelans’ Ones To Watch Festival earlier this year, where they quickly became fan favourites.
Golden Plec has described the band as a cross between QOTSA, ASIWYFA, and Matt Bellamy, who have been making a name for themselves on the live circuit for quite some time, while The Irish Times hailed them as a band to keep an eye on, whose “unassuming stage presence is the perfect foil to the assured sonic assault they're capable of unleashing.”
