Marconi Half Marathon teams up Kingfisher Club

The Marconi Half Marathon has announced the Kingfisher Club as its official health and wellbeing partner to help promote health and fitness in the county and get runners in tip top shape for the event this year.

The event takes place on Saturday September 20, and begins at the famous Gurteen Beach in Roundstone and finishes in the capital of Connemara, Clifden town.

The flat route takes in some of the most spectacular Connemara scenery including two of the west’s most picturesque towns. Last year, the inaugural year for the marathon proved a huge success as it also coincides with The Clifden Arts Festival weekend.

Joe Cosgrove, CEO of The Kingfisher Club, is delighted to support the Marconi Half Marathon.

“As a fitness provider, we’re delighted to help support an event that celebrates health and well-being. We wish all runners the best in their training.”

The partnership means all runners, seasoned campaigners or beginners, have access to all the support they need ahead of the race. The Kingfisher is offering a free daily pass to the value of €13 to trial facilities for anyone registered for the half marathon.

Thomas King, event director, said: “We’re excited to have teamed up with The Kingfisher Club this year to offer participants all the training tips they will need in the run up to the race.

“It is great to see The Kingfisher Club come on board and give the Marconi Half Marathon a huge boost ahead of this year’s event. With hundreds of participants last year, the marathon is on track to be a huge success again this year.”

The Kingfisher Club in association with the Marconi Half Marathon is also offering a €5 discount to the first 100 Kingfisher members that register online by using the code “KINGFISHER2014”.
