TWO COURSES in musical theatre training, under the tuition of Australian performer Claire Healy, take place in The Anno Santo Hotel, Salthill, in September.
Acting Through Song (September 6 and 7 ) will focus on creating characters within song in both solo and ensemble contexts. There will be work on vocal technique, storytelling through song, creating characters within song. Previous singing experience is a bonus, but not essential.
Singing Audition Preparation (September 13 and 15 ) will focus on preparing and auditioning for musical theatre, plays featuring music, or drama school through vocal technique, song choice, vocal style, and creating a character through song.
Claire Healy is an actor, musician, and songwriter who has worked in theatre in Britain, Australia, and Ireland. Her show Flamboyant: Like a Flame, but Buoyant was rated the No 1 cabaret show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013, according to Twitter, and she is currently performing her new show Playdough Face in the Scottish capital.
