“As much as we want to believe that weight loss and ‘dieting’ is easy, it’s not. And sometimes we need support to direct and help us. It doesn’t happen overnight. It requires planning, effort and motivation. Above all, it requires you to know yourself” says weight management specialist Bernadette Rock who will be in Galway on Monday August 25 to give a free oublic talk on Weight Loss and Weight Management in the Croi Heart & Stroke Centre, Moyola Lane, Newcastle at 7pm.
Anyone who is interested in learning how to overcome the personal hurdles of weight management is invited to attend this free event which is open to people of all ages.
Announcing details of this FREE Public Talk, Croi Dietician Claire Kerins says “ we are delighted to welcome Bernadette Rock back to Galway to share her experiences in helping people develop a healthy relationship with food.
“Her presentation will explore the ways to break the cycle of emotional and comfort eating by challenging some of the common beliefs people about food and weight. She has developed the ‘Heyday Programme’ which takes the focus off diets and food plans and focuses on the habits, emotions and situations that lead to unhealthy eating,” said Ms Kerins.
Ms Rock developed this programme from her personal struggles with emotional eating, poor body image and weight related difficulties which she has managed to overcome. She now works in the weight management clinic in Loughlinstown Hospital Dublin.
