The Tiny Dancer Party in the Castle

SINGER-SONGWRITER Paddy Casey will headline The Tiny Dancer Party in the Castle, a charity one-day festival taking place in Claregalway.

Casey, who is currently promoting his new single ‘Out Of Control’, will share the stage with singer Mariah Butler of The Voice, classical quartet Contempo, singer-songwriter Brian Flanagan, as well as the bands Oddity, The Reverse, The Vintage Infants, and Who Knows.

Also performing will be the Athenry Music School, the Ballybrit Gospel Choir, Yer Man’s Puppets, Youth Ballet West, and the Lackagh Trad Musicians.

The event is also a family fun day and there will be face painting, balloon modelling, nail art, bouncy castles, a disco, fairground rides, arts and crafts, an interactive dance show, and balloon racing.

Other events include poi dancing (which involves swinging tethered weights through a variety of rhythmical and geometric patterns ), fairy dancing, and FAI street soccer.

The Tiny Dancer Party in the Castle is in aid of Galway girl Lily-Mae Morrison, who is currently in remission from Stage IV neuroblastoma, one of the deadliest childhood cancers with a 70 per cent relapse rate. At the moment she is taking part in an expensive drug trial in America to prevent relapse.

The event takes place on Saturday August 23 from 12 noon to 8pm at Claregalway Castle. Tickets are €10, but admission is free for children, and are available from Tickemaster.ie and at the gate on the day.
