JOHNNY MOYNIHAN, formerly of Sweeney’s Men and a titan of Irish folk music, will take to the stage as part of An t-Amhran Beo this weekend.
An t-Amhran Beo is the traditional singing concert as part of Kinvara’s Cruinniu na mBad festival. It takes place in Johnston's Hall this Saturday at 8.30pm. As well as Johnny Moynihan, the line-up features singers Sarah Ghriallais and her son Micheal Ó Conghaile, both winners of the prestigious Corn Uí Riada; Seosamh Ó Flatharta; Briocan Bairead; Eilis Ní Chonghaile; Nollaig Nic Aindriu; and Marie Dolan.
There will also be a display of sean nós dancing from Padraic O h-Oibicin and Becky Ní hEallaithe. Music will be provided by Eugene Lambe, Caroline Brady, and Conor Keane. The MC will be Raidio na Gaeltachta’s Sean Ó hEanaí.
