ROFI JAMES, the Galway acoustic duo, play Monroe’s Live Backstage Bar tonight as part of the venue’s Race Week celebrations.
The duo - Rónán Ó Flaithearta and Jamie Murray - who play acoustic guitar and cajón (a Spanish percussive box ) won the 2013 iRocks band competition in association with Monroe’s Live and iRadio. Their self-titled EP was recorded in Grouse Lodge studios where Michael Jackson, REM, Muse, and Will.I.Am have also worked.
Tickets are €10 but there is free entry with a Galway Races wristband or race card until 11.30pm.
