Festival exhibitions in UHG

TODAY SEES the launch of two exhibitions in UHG, one by Aoife Price, the other by Suzanne Wawra, and both are part of the Galway Fringe Festival.

Aoife Price’s Sparks is on display in the foyer, along the partition on the left, while Suzanne Wawra’s Face It is on the first floor, along the administration corridor parallel to radiology.

Aoife Price is an author and youth advisor for Headstrong Centre for Youth Mental Health. She worked with a graphic designer and illustrator to publish the book Sparks, a visual empathetic journey through depression. Artwork from the book will be displayed in a series of panels.

Face It, by Dublin based, German artist Suzanne Wawra, is a series of multimedia works experiences of mental illness and healing.

The hospital will also host a Galway International Arts Festival exhibition in Karen Conway’s An+Aisthésis, inspired by the artists visit to the UCH Anaesthetic Department’s archive and its vintage anaesthetic equipment.
