Earthship - new EP and Galway gigs

EARTHSHIP, THE Galway funk-dance-jazz fusionists have just released their new EP, The Proximity Effect, and will mark the occasion with two shows in Galway city.

The band - Karl Clews (bass ), Mark Farrelly (keyboards ), Eoghan Judge (guitar ), Bart Kiely (drums ), and Paula Higgins (vocals ) - will play Kelly’s Bar, Bridge Street, at 10pm tomorrow and Monroe’s Live on Thursday July 24 at 9pm.

Strongly influenced by Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, and Return To Forever, Earthship have more recently begun to incorporate pop hooks and more accessible structures into their sound, as captured on the new single ‘The Great Wheel’.

The band have played the Cork Jazz Festival, Electric Picnic, and Body & Soul. To listen to The Proximity Effect online go to soundcloud.com/earthship-band/sets/earthship-ep-2014
