Avant-jazz fusion from Dinosaur

AMSTERDAM TRIO Dinosaur will bring their elegant, at times explosive, jazz/folk/rock fusion to County Galway this month at four separate shows.

Although the trio came together at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, its three members come from across the globe - guitarist Aengus Hackett is from Galway; percussionist Mauricio Ramirez is Colombian; while cellist Maya Fridman is from Russia.

Dinosaur’s performances are marked by deep passion, bringing the listener on a journey through haunting cello melodies, powerful grooves, classical moods and tones, and avant garde flourishes.

The Galway shows are part of the trio’s debut Irish tour and take in The Crane Bar, Sea Road, Galway city (Friday July 18, 9.30pm ); Johnston’s Hall, Kinvara (Saturday 19, 8.30pm ); Campbell’s Tavern, Headford (Sunday 20, 3.30pm ); and Mullarkey’s Bar, Clifden (Wednesday 23, 9.30pm ).
