POST-APOCALYPTIC Ireland, Alice in Wonderland, and 19th century, Galway form the inspirations for an exhibition of new work by Galway artist Maurice Walsh.
Entitled 3 Million Miles Away, the exhibition is currently running at the Renzo Café, Eyre Street, and is Maurice’s third solo show.
Among the works are Down the Rabbit Hole, featuring eerie woodland images inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland; The Tricked and Trickled depicts an Ireland in ruins, the Irish flag hanging in tatters, and people queuing for a drop of water from an old fashioned well; and Buttermilk Lane, a depiction of the local landmark as it was in the 19th century.
3 Million Miles Away runs until August 5.
