JULIE FEENEY, Paddy Casey, and Eleanor Shanley are among the singers who will be in concert on Inishbofin, as part of the island’s annual summer concert series.
The series begins on Tuesday July 8 with Lumiere, featuring Kerry singers Eilish Kennedy and Pauline Scanlon. This is followed on July 15 with The Henry Girls, who Hot Press described as “blending Irish and American roots styles with the retro sounds of close harmony groups of the 40s and 50s”.
Eleanor Shanley, who has sung with De Dannan and the late Ronnie Drew, plays a solo show on July 22.
Julie Feeny, the award-winning Athenry born vocalist and composer plays on July 29. Her third album Clocks went to No 1 in the independent Irish Album Charts.
Declan O’Rourke plays on August 5 followed by Paddy Casey on August 12. Maura O’Connell, Arty McGlynn, and Nollaig Casey join forces on August 19.
The final concert is on August 26 with Dessie ‘Say You Love Me’ O’Halloran; accordionist Colm Gannon; flautist Harry Bradley; and guitarists John Blake and Geraldine King.
