Support survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence by taking part in the Longest Day March on June 21, an event organised by the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
The hardest day is often the longest day for survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence. Imagine feeling broken and empty, trying to rebuild yourself piece by piece with no instruction book and feeling like there is nowhere to turn. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is just to try to stay human. Even after horrific attacks and abuse we see tremendously brave men and women who have the power to hope that there will be an end to the longest day. Join the Longest Day March to support survivors and give them a promise of hope and light amid a time of cold and dark. This is the beginning place, the foundation upon which more can be built.
The march will begin at 11am at the Spanish Arch and continue to Blackrock. Participants may throw a flower into the water to remember those who have suffered or to let go some of their own suffering.
