Describing the election in Galway county and city as an “amazing day” for Sinn Féin, newly elected county councillor Tom Healy said he will work to ensure better communication and level of service for the people of Connemara.
It was late on Sunday evening at the count centre at NUI Galway when Cllr Healy was elected in the thirteenth and last count for the Connemara electoral area. Born in Cleggan, Cllr Healy spent the last five years abroad working internationally for a company that provides IT mobility enterprise solutions to postal and logistics industry. Now living in Clifden, Cllr Healy has advocated for people with disabilities and hopes to use his extensive knowledge in planning to advocate for local housing rights.
Speaking at the count centre, Cllr Healy said he will do his best to lobby on behalf of Connemara business and economy.
