Dressing princesses at Anthony Ryan’s

Sinple, elegant styles are big news for girls’ Holy Communion wear this year, according to Anthony Ryan’s store which holds its annual fashion show devoted exclusively to Holy Communion wear at its Shop Street premises on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Ankle length and full length dresses are particularly popular this year with the princess style lending a fairytale feeling. Satin and organza tend to be the most popular while embroidery tends to be discreet. Large simple bows or buttons to the back are a strong feature. Headdresses and tiaras are simple and elegant while dresses with boleros complete the look.

To add the finishing touch there is an abundance of delightful accessories such as bags, gloves, umbrellas, socks and tights. You can also get footwear which is sold in satin finishes and ballet styles.

Ryan’s stocks exclusive internationally designed ranges of Communion dresses from “The Isabella Collection”, “White Angel”, “Weise” and “Jottum”. Many of the designs are also of Irish manufacture. The ranges have been chosen to offer the greatest choice in both styling and prices. Sizes start at age seven and continue up to size plus catering for faster growing children.

Boys’ Holy Communion fashions vary greatly with the classic jacket and tie look remaining the favourite. Ryan’s offer dapper formal suits, less formal waistcoat suits and casual looks.

Parents are invited to go along to view the fashion show, which will take place on the first floor of the shop, together with their children who are making their first Holy Communion this year.

Admission is free but places are limited. Tickets are available at the store and can be reserved by telephoning (091 ) 567061. There will be a 10 per cent discount off all Holy Communion wear purchased on the night.
