Pharrell Williams approved singer for Monroe’s

PHARRELL WILLIAMS is a huge fan of Michelle Chamuel. “She’s just so different,” he declared. “I’ve never seen anything like her before.”

R’n’B singer Usher is similarly enthusiastic, calling her “medicine for the whole world”; while Rolling Stone praised her ability to “tackle pretty much any genre”. Not band for the woman who came second in the US version of The Voice in 2013.

Galway can see what the fuss is about when Michelle plays Monroe’s Live on Saturday May 24 as part of ATLANTIC I/O, a collaboration between Irish and American musicians mixing jazz, funk, electronica, Irish trad, and pop.

Michelle has released her new solo single ‘Go Down Singing’, and prior to this was a member of indie band Ella Riot. She also enjoyed success under the moniker The Reverb Junkie with her electronic album All I Want.

The ATLANTIC I/O line up is completed by the olllam (uilleann pipers John McSherry and Tyler Duncan, percussionist Michael Shimmin, Joe Dart, Woody Goff, and Theo Katzman ); five time All-Ireland and three time Oireachtas title winner Pádraig Rynne; and American fiddler Jeremy Kittel.

Tickets are available on the door or through www.monroes.ie and 091 - 583397.
