Renmore Scouts is hosting a family fun day in its purpose-built scouting village in Nolan Park, Renmore, on Sunday.
Activities on the day will include an obstacle course, bouncy castle, face painting, games and activities for all ages, and a barbecue from 12 noon until 5pm.
The 13th Galway Renmore Scout Group, which is a youth organisation that helps six to 18-year-olds develop life skills, such as social interaction, confidence, teamwork, leadership and knowledge of the environment, is raising funds to help it continue deliver a strong Scouting programme, maintain and repair its Scout Den, and purchase new and maintain existing equipment.
Scouting, which provides a safe environment for youths to have fun and to interact with other youths from their community and on a national and international level, caters for youths from all social backgrounds, cultures and needs.
The 13th group attracts members mainly come from the east side of Galway city, in particular Renmore, Mervue, Ballybane, Ballybrit, Merlin Park, Doughiska, Roscam, Wellpark and Tirellan.
