Egg-citing Easter egg hunt in the city

A fun- filled family Easter egg hunt takes place in the city this Easter Saturday.

Hosted by the Galway City Business Association, the Easter Egg Hunt is a free event which will take place from 12 noon to 1pm.

Many of the city’s popular businesses have joined together to provide treats for the children along the way.

Those interested in taking part will meet outside AIB Lynch’s Castle, Shop Street, at 12 noon where the entertaining Easter Bunny will be on hand to hand out maps before 12.30pm.

The maps will include the shops, cafés and businesses that families must visit. In each venue, the ‘hunters’ will receive a special sticker and when all stickers are collected, contestants must return to the Easter Bunny with the completed map by no later than 1pm.

The Easter Bunny will present an Easter egg to all children after the map has been returned as a special token for taking part in the hunt.

One lucky winner will receive a beautiful Easter hamper from McCambridges on Shop Street.

Chairman of the Galway City Business Association, Anthony Ryan, is looking forward to the fun event: “This free event is a great opportunity for families to come into the heart of Galway and savour the atmosphere at Easter time.”

The event is sponsored by AIB, Dunnes Stores Edward Square, GCBA and The Eyre Square Shopping Centre where the festivities will continue for the afternoon with activities and treats for all the family.
