Last Friday saw the opening of Martin Divilly Butchers in Terryland Shopping Centre, 87 years on from the very first Martin Divilly Butchers in Galway city. Martin and Audrey along with their extended families cheered on, as Martin’s daughter Shauna Divilly cut the ribbon.
Speaking of their successful opening week Martin says ‘ It has surpassed any of our expectations, it’s evident people are more aware of what they’re eating and that more than ever people are choosing meat from a butcher. Our Terryland store has a more country feel to it, so it’s great to be able to tell our customers the dry aged t-bone steak they’re having for dinner comes from a local Galway farmer. It’s not just the meat that
is local as Martin explains. “Our team in Terryland is headed up by Jarlath Kelly from Tuam, whose own family have a great tradition in the butcher trade. With staff members from Annaghdown, Corrandulla, Claregalway, Headford, Loughrea and Ballinfoyle, you are assured a genuine welcome. Indeed I have already had phonecalls complimenting us on our staff and their helpfulness – something we
never tire of hearing!’ Notonlyaname synonymous with butchery in Galway, Martin Divilly has the name of exceptional, customer friendly staff – drop in and enjoy the hospitality for yourself.
