AIDS Partnership Africa and the Galway Autism Partnership are to benefit from a second hand book sale in the Galway Shopping Centre on the Headford Road.
The charity sale takes place today (10am to 8pm ), tomorrow (10am to 8pm ), Saturday (10am to 6pm ), and Sunday (12 noon to 5pm ). The proceeds will be divided equally between both charities and all money raised will go to both organisations.
The initiative is the brainchild of Alice Holland and Florrie Connolly who have gathered thousands of second-hand books from across Ireland.
Aids Partnership Africa was set up to assist grandparents look after and care for children orphaned by AIDS. Galway Autism Partnership receives no State funding and relies on donations and fundraising events to provide its services.
