Galway Simon Community has just launched its Kick Assphalt Run, which allows participants to choose between a 10K or a 10-mile run on June 22 in Salthill.
Galway Simon is well known for organising the very popular Galway Simon Women’s Mini Marathon each year, but this year due to the level of interest in men to take part in the event they have decided to open up the run to both genders….but to add the twist of the choice between metric and imperial.
The 10K run is perfect for those who wish to either complete a 10K for the first time this year, or to clock up a personal best (PB ) at this distance. It is suitable for runners, joggers and walkers, aged over 18.
For those who are looking for a greater challenge for the new year and who have a couple of 10K’s already under their belt, then they can sign up to do the 10 mile run on the day. This is also an excellent training platform for those looking to achieve a half or full marathon in 2014.
Whether you choice metric or imperial on the day, both runs are flat and fast and take in the beautiful Galway Bay for which the city is famous. All proceeds from the registration fee will go to support men and women in the West of Ireland who are homeless.
So sign up today at www.GalwaySimon.ie or www.RunIreland.com or phone Kerry at 091 381828 for more information.
