Tonight, Thursday January 30, Monroe’s Live will host a night of ‘ceol agus damhsa’ in aid of Cairde Grace, the group established to raise funds for the care and treatment of eight-year-old Grace Kenneally from Tirellan Heights, who is battling the aggressive childhood cancer, neuroblastoma for the third time.
This special fundraising night will see some of the very best of Irish dancing and traditional music on the Monroe’s Live stage with dancing from world-famous sean nós dancers the Devane Brothers and the renowned Hession School of Dancing featuring Anne-Marie Keaney and world champion dancers Cathal Keaney and Claire Greaney.
Providing music for the evening will be the acclaimed accordion player Cormac Begley, performing songs from his latest recording Tunes in the Church, which has been described by Tradconnect.com as “representative of where the true authentic voice of Irish traditional music is at in the 21st century”.
Later, Galway’s own Eurovision star and Galway Bay FM personality, Marc Roberts will perform a set which includes tracks from his iTunes chart-topping album Now and Then.
Rounding off a fantastic evening of Irish song and dance will be the stars of Trad on the Prom, Máirín and Yvonne Fahy and Chris Kelly.
This special night is in aid of a truly worthy cause and will feature a monster raffle with dozens of great prizes and maybe even a guest appearance or two, so make sure you book your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
