Meehan’s Londis in Glenamaddy will soon celebrate 10 years in business providing the best quality customer service, excellent value across its product range, and a dedication to the local community.
Taken over by owner and proprietor Beatie Meehan in January 2004, Meehan’s operated from the store until the completion of an entirely new premises on the existing site in a project which lasted more than a year, finishing in 2006.
The new premises, located on Church Street in Glenamaddy, was designed around its customers, taking into account the needs of its loyal local community to create a practical and well thought out environment in which to shop. The store also employs 17 members of staff between full time and part time employees, some of whom have been a part of the Meehan’s Londis family since its opening 10 years ago.
The store’s excellent staff and quality customer service and value has been acknowledged by the Londis brand, having won two gold awards and two silver awards in retailing excellence over its years in business.
Along with its excellent variety of grocery products, Meehan’s Londis features many useful services available in store, including a hot and cold deli counter, a full butcher counter, off licence, ATM, a PostPoint where people can pay their electricity and phone bills in store, a fuel section which includes coal, briquettes, and gas, and ample free parking outside. As a part of its commitment to quality and personal customer service, Meehan’s Londis provides a home delivery service free of charge where customers can have their groceries dropped directly to their door.
The store also features a full bakery with fresh, homemade, baked goods made in store by Beatie Meehan herself. Included among her selection of baked goods and pastries are brown breads, scones, and her most famous export, homemade treacle bread, which is a popular seller in the local community.
Meehan’s Londis provides one of the most practical loyalty schemes available at the moment. The scheme offers customers the chance to convert their accumulated points into cash which they can use on their grocery shopping with no restrictions, instead of the traditional loyalty schemes which use vouchers on specific items. Another feature of this scheme is that any loose change from their points transactions is saved up so customers can use them in store however they wish. This Christmas, Meehan’s is offering €20 off any shop worth €100 for loyalty members who have amassed 500 points or more between October and December.
Meehan’s Londis has forged strong connections with its local community over the years. The store is always supporting the fundraising efforts of many different sports clubs, community projects, and charities from the locality since its opening.
Meehan’s Londis will celebrate its 10th year in business on January 24 next year with many surprises planned to thank its loyal local customers for their support over the years. In the run up to the big day there will be prizes given away to lucky customers as well as many other promotions available in store for the occasion.
