Cura’s Galway Centre launches drive for trainee volunteers

Cura Galway will launch its recruitment drive with an information event for prospective volunteer counsellors on Wednesday September 25.

The event will be held twice that day — 2.30pm and again at 7pm in the Cura centre, Árus de Brún, Newtownsmith, Galway

Prospective volunteers are not expected to have any specific qualifications, but are expected to be good listeners, understanding, open-minded and be able to support others in a confidential manner.

At these meetings, those interested in volunteering with Cura will get a chance to learn about the organisation, what is involved in volunteering as a counsellor, the training process, and the commitment required.

Members of Cura’s recruitment and training team will explain the assessment and selection processes, the comprehensive training and the on-going supports that are there to prepare volunteers for their role as Crisis Pregnancy Counsellors.

Cura’s Galway Centre is located in Árus de Brun, Newtownsmith, Galway , with an outreach centre in Carraroe Health Centre.

Cura provide a range of unplanned and crisis pregnancy support services as follows:
