Series of WEEE e-waste collections in Galway

WEEE Ireland, the Irish compliance scheme for electrical and battery recycling, will hold a series of WEEE collection events throughout Galway county.

These collection days, supported by the Galway County Council, will allow people from towns and villages across the county to get rid of any household electrical equipment and batteries in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

The scheduled WEEE collection days will be at the following locations in Galway:

September 12 – Car park on Ballyconneely Road, Roundstone, 10am-1pm.

September 12 – Bringbanks site beside church, Carna, 4pm-7pm.

September 17 – Car park opposite church, Leitir Mór, 10am-1pm.

September 17 – Micheál Breathnach GAA Pitch, Indreabhán, 4pm-7pm.

September 19 – Oughterard GAA Pitch, 10am – 1pm

September 19 – Maigh Cuilinn GAA Pitch, Maigh Cuilinn, 4pm-7pm.

Anything in the home with a battery or a plug can be recycled at these collections. Waste collection specialists from WEEE Ireland will be there on the day to help people send their toasters, vacuum cleaners, fridges, and every other electrical item imaginable to a better place.
