Captain Ryan has faith in Galway camogie

Galway senior Camogie team captain Lorraine Ryan is in a positive frame of mind ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland final and the former All-Star is looking forward to their clash with Kilkenny.

"We are all looking forward to the game and we believe that if we play to our potential, we will be hard to stop.

“Kilkenny are a very good team, we know that, and they had a fine win over Cork in their semi-final, but we are very focussed on what we have to do. We are only looking at what we can do to try to get a victory."

Ryan says the team learned a lesson after their loss last year.

“ Even after the win over Wexford, there were no real celebrations. We immediately focussed on our next game. We learnt a bitter lesson from our defeat to Cork last year and we are very keen to try to make amends for that display.

"We are very calm and there has been no real hype over the game. We have been down this road before, and have played in a few finals - and the only thing we can do is produce a top class display and if we do that, we won't be too far away. There are lots of fantastic players on our panel and if all the girls who see action play as they can, we are good enough to win."
