Toyota has boosted its light commercial line-up in Ireland with the launch l of the Proace.
It arrives thanks toan extensive joint collaboration on the next generation of light commercial vehicles which will be produced by PSA Peugeot Citroen.
This first stage of this new partnership is set to last for over seven years and over the next two or three years, Toyota Motor Europe will participate with PSA in the development and industrial investment costs for the next generation Proace.
The ProAce is based on the Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch models. It t comes in two grades (GL, GX ) and is available in white, black, blue, red, silver metallic, and dark grey metallic colours.
The successor to the hugely popular and genre defining Hiace, the ProAce is a versatile, capable and comfortable medium-sized van with passenger car-like driving comfort. The elevated seating position and large windscreen give a comfortable MPV-like environment with excellent visibility. Convenience is ensured by electric front windows, remote central locking, an adjustable steering position, an audio system with Bluetooth for hands-free mobile phone operation and music streaming (GX only ), and electrically operated and heated door mirrors (GX only ).
Proace is available in a choice of two vehicle lengths, and two vehicle heights, giving overall capacities of 5m3, 6m3 and 7m3. Ensuring maximum usability and capability, the large load-space can be accessed by two sliding doors at the side, and dual split doors with a 180-degree opening capability in the rear. This large versatile space is complemented by a payload of up to 1160kg and a towing capacity of up to 2000Kg.
Proace features anti-lock braking with electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle stability control and daytime running lights as standard.
The new Toyota Proace is available with a range of efficient powertrains, all engineered to meet the latest Euro V emission regulations. The D-4D 90 (1.6 ) engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and the D-4D 128 (2.0 ) comes with a six-speed manual transmission. With a tank capacity of 80 litres, the Toyota ProAce has an estimated driving range of up to 1250km without refuelling.
