The Staves @ Róisín Dubh

The rise of sibling trio The Staves over the past 18 months has been nothing short of meteoric. The band arrive at the Róisín Dubh on September 9 from 8pm.

The British folk rock band of sisters from Watford have come a long way since the early days of open mic nights around their local scene.

After releasing two EPs, their debut album Dead & Born & Grown received near faultless reviews from the likes of Clash, Mojo, Uncut, and Q, while The Independent called the album “magical” and The Sunday Times called it “a debut of stellar beauty and hidden depths”.

Aside from selling out their own headline tours, they have also performed as main support to the likes of Bon Iver, The Civil Wars, Mt. Desolation, and Ben Howard. They have also featured on the recent albums of Tom Jones and Fionn Regan.

The Staves' live reputation is truly second-to-none, with their exquisite songwriting and close harmonies capable of plunging an audience into awed silence.

The support on the night will be from Norwegian musician Jonas Alaska. Tickets cost €15 (€12.50 for members ) and are available from the Róisín Dubh.
