Open day at Mervue for u-19 trials

Mervue United has re-appointed Justin Neary as its Airtricity u-19 manager for the coming season.

Neary, who is widely rearded in Galway having guided several underage teams to national sucess in the past 20 years, will coach the u-19s in the southern section of the Airtricity league.

Nearly, who holds a UEFA B coaching licence, will be assisted by Colin Nolan with whom he has worked for the past three seasons at Mervue. The coaching duo recently helped the club’s youth team to capture all four u-18 titles this season - Connacht Youth Cup (third year in a row for the club ), Galway DL Premier Division, GFA Cup, and the Umbro Cup.

Former Galway United player Ollie Neary will complete the backroom team as team coach.

Open day

An open day will be held this Saturday July 13 at Fahy’s Field, Mervue at 11.30am. Players born on or after January 1 1995 are invited to come and train and view the club’s facilities at at Fahy's Field. Players are asked to bring full training kit.
