A run in the park — get your jogging shoes on for ACT for Meningitis

Entering its third year, the popular Renville Park 5K - held in association with Level One Serviced Office Space - will take place on Wednesday July 24 at 8pm in Renville Park, Oranmore. Proceeds from the event are going to local charity ACT for Meningitis which aims to raise awareness of meningitis while also supporting families and individuals affected.

Speaking of the event Siobhan Carroll of ACT said she is thrilled to be once again a part of the amazing Renville Park 5k.

“Due to the wonderful support of so many people last year we were able to offer continued support services including counselling and play therapy. This year’s event will assist us in reaching more families and raise awareness of meningitis. Knowing the signs of meningitis may just save a life.”

Linda Burke, managing director of Level One, said Level One is delighted to manage this event for a third year.

“Meningitis is an illness which can affect anybody and Siobhan and her team at ACT are doing wonderful work. We have had such an amazing turn out for the past two years and are again hopeful all runners will get the running shoes on!”

A wonderful evening is promised at the park, there will be post-race refreshments for participants in the Castle Garden, provided by Frends Restaurant. The race itself takes runners on a beautiful 5k route by the sea with the last kilometre in the park. The race is AAI approved and chip timed. Runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities are welcome to take part.
