Galway Democrats to celebrate July 4 with Creole barbecue

Galway based Americans, involved in Democrats Abroad Ireland, will be celebrating US Independence Day with a major BBQ this weekend.

On July 4 1776, the ‘Thirteen Colonies’, those parts of what is now the USA which were owned by Britain, declared their independence. The date has since become a national holiday in the US and is marked by Americans worldwide.

Galway members of Democrats Abroad will mark the occasion this weekend with a BBQ on Saturday from 1pm to 5pm, at the outdoor terrace of Creole Restaurant on Dominick Street.

There will be baby back ribs, grilled burgers, Jambalaya, and apple pie to eat. Admission is €20 and children eat free. There will also be a cash bar.
