“A pair a ‘lectric guitars, drums, bass, flowery language and western harmonies, usually culminating in catchy rock songs.”
This is how Tuam band Strange Boats, who play Monroe’s Backstage Bar this Saturday at 9pm, describe their own sound. The band’s two singles, ‘Boys Run Faster Than Girls’ and ‘Teenage Love Convention’, have won support from Today FM’s Paul McLoone and Ian Dempsey, and 2FM’s Hector.
The band will release their debut album Gnome in July and preview songs from it at this gig.
Support is from Kevin Duffy while Galway singer-songwriter Adam Murphy will launch his latest album, The Human Spirit on Monroe’s Main Stage at 10pm.
Admission is free before 10.30pm and €10 after.
