Saoirse Ronan, one of the finest young actors to emerge from Ireland in years, will be one of the guests of honour at the 25th Galway Film Fleadh.
Saoirse, whose film credits include major roles in Hanna, Byzantium, The Lovely Bones, and Atonement, will take part in the Fleadh Public Interview in the Town Hall Theatre on Sunday July 14.
From her Oscar nominated performance in Atonement, to an exquisite portrayal of a naïve and deadly assassin in Hanna and her youth-defying turn as a centuries-old vampire in the current Byzantium, Saoirse is a home-grown talent with whom Hollywood royalty are clamouring to work.
The Fleadh runs from Tuesday July 9 to Sunday 14, premiering the newest and best in Irish cinema, including Life’s a Breeze, the new film from director Lance Daly (Kisses ) and starring Pat Shortt and Fionnuala Flanagan, who will also attend the fleadh.
