Lenaboy Avenue lighting to be improved

Public lighting along Lenaboy Avenue in Salthill is to be improved in a move that residents and local councillors hope will deter street drinking.

The Galway City Council is undertaking work to improve the public lighting along Lenaboy Avenue and the works are due to be completed by the end of next week.

The works follow representations from Galway City West councillors on behalf of residents. It has also been welcomed by Labour’s Cllr Niall McNelis.

“This will help with anti social behaviour in the area,” he said. “It is also the wish of the residents and the councillors that policing is stepped up in Salthill and to target youths street drinking.”
