Adults, children and much-loved dogs are invited to a Family Fun Day and Dog Show being held at St Finbars club at Southpark in the Claddagh this Sunday (May 26 ) from 1pm to 5pm. The fun-filled celebration will help raise money and awareness for the GRCC and local dog charity MADRA.
Dog owners are invited to bring along their cherished pooches and can put them through their paces with a novelty dog show, with many categories for children and their dogs too. There will also be plenty of entertainment for all the two-legged members of the family including a bouncy castle, animal activities, kiddies disco, face painting and traditional games like sac races, egg and spoon races, and a parent’s race.
Dog Show categories including Golden Oldies, Best Trick, Dog with the Waggiest Tail, Best Dressed Dog, Child’s Best Friend, and Best Rescue Dog are some of the competitions that can be entered on the day; for a full schedule visit the MADRA website and Facebook page in advance.
“If the dog show isn’t for you, visitors of the human variety can enjoy browsing for bargains at the bric-a-brac stall, while little ones can get stuck into activities including face painting. There will also be raffles, a tombola, and a great selection of delicious refreshments on offer” added Aoife Lee, Fundraiser with GRCC.
Admission on the day is €3 per person, with a family ticket available for €10. Dog show entry fee is €2 per category. For more information on the event log on towww.madra.ie
