A 24-year-old man lost his life in an early morning collision on the N17 at Knockdoe on Monday.
Martin Naughton died when the car he was driving collided with a traffic island at 2.30am on Monday.
Mr Naughton was well known in north Galway, where his family run the N17 Superstore in Milltown.
The road was closed for several hours on Monday to allow a forensic collision investigation to take place.
Mr Naughton will be buried tomorrow following 12 noon Mass at St Conleth’s Church, Kilconly.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed the accident to contact Galway Garda Station at 091 538000.
