Flynn’s appeal to supporters

Galway u-21 football manager Alan Flynn is issuing a passionate plea to GAA supporters to travel to Limerick on Saturday evening to support the Galway team in the All-Ireland football final against Cork (7pm ).

“We are asking supporters from the lads’ respective clubs to try to make the effort to get to Limerick and give their club colleague and teammate a cheer,” says Flynn.

“There is an All-Ireland title at stake, and the more Galway supporters in the stands in the Gaelic Grounds, the better. We know 7pm on a Saturday evening is not ideal for everyone, but hopefully as many Galway people as possible can make the trip to help us out.”

Flynn says Galway have a fine young team that has worked hard over the past four months make it to the final.

“Cork are a good side and all the support we can get on Saturday evening would be greatly appreciated. In a tight game, some loud and boisterous support from the stand and terraces can be a big boost to players. All of the players on our panel have a bright future ahead of them in Gaelic football and a win on Saturday would be a very nice fillip for football in the county.”
