No fashion brand these days is without a celebrity collaboration. Not that this kind of endorsement is needed for the high street brands, but between guest designers, or just famous faces of campaigns, celebrity engagement with the fashion industry is at its peak. Coming into summer, we have seen a plethora of famous faces get stylish, from Beyoncé to Miranda Kerr; so if you want to get your hands on some hot summer pieces here are the ones to watch.
Beyoncé and H&M
Now contrary to what we might have thought from speculation last year, Beyoncé has signed up, not as a designer with H&M, but as the face of its summer campaign. No stranger to fashion (she works with her mother, Tina Knowles, on House of Deréon ) and now she lends her services to a very relaxed and stylish summer collection. H&M has also collaborated with Vanessa Paradis to be the face of its Conscious collection, which is currently available in stores, with some spring-fuelled pieces which are full of pretty florals, all made in a sustainable way.
Myleene Klass and Littlewoods
Myleene Klass has been working with clothing brands for a few seasons now, starting with her high profile involvement with Marks and Spencer. Now, she teams up with Littlewoods to design a really feminine swimwear collection, which is available here and in the UK. Designed with real women in mind, Myleene has created a swimwear line that is flattering, feminine, and uber chic, all ensuring that you look fabulous and feel confident when hitting the beach this summer. Sizes range from 6 to 20 and range in price from €18 to €35. My particular favourite is the red bandau bikini top and matching hipster bottoms (Top, €22 and bikini bottoms, €22 ) available on littlewoods.ie
Debenhams and Roksanda Illincic
One of my all time favourite designers, Rokanda Illininc (who recently won the Best Red Carpet Designer at the Elle Style Awards ) is one of the latest designers to work on the Edition collection at Debenhams. Her elegant designs are a perfect solution for any wedding or race meeting you have coming up over the summer. Take a look at her use of colours like aquamarine and cobalt blue (pictured, turquoise and black panelled dress, reduced from €110 to €77 at debenhams.ie ).
JW Anderson and Topshop
The golden boy of fashion design, JW Anderson teams up with Topshop this year in a highly anticipated collection which is available at Brown Thomas Galway. The designer himself says that the girl has evolved “It’s about carrying over the idea of iconic pieces that can be worn over and over and re-working staple looks from the the JW Anderson wardrobe.” Staying true to pieces from his own collection, like kilts and shirts, JW’s collaboration is proving popular, thanks to the very favourable price point, with a denim pinafore dress at €106 and his notable black kilt at €76 making these a real designer steal.
